Christmas at Longwood Gardens

Image
Well this year we changed things up a bit. Mom and I took a road trip to Longwood gardens in Kennett Square, Pa. oh and was this worth the trip. The following pictures really can’t do it any justice and we didn’t even stay for the evening light show, next time.  Make sure you give plenty of time to really explore the grounds.  The grounds dedicated an entire green house to trees that were decorated from local elementary schools. Each one had a theme that was completely different from the next. All the ornaments were hand made. A lot of the ornaments were made from recycled materials. Clever.  The water display was set to music, super cool! I loved these trees and the crochet decorations. Note that one tree’s branches/trunk is wrapped in red yarn. The amount of time it took to do that is mind blowing.  Impressive cast us through this part of the tour.  As far as I’m concerned there is never to many holiday trees to be on displa

Electric City Aquarium

The next adventure was to the Aquarium at the Steamtowne Mall. First this is no longer a mall, there is really no food court left, there are very few stores left, and more going because its becoming a rehab offices. Ok that is besides the point. The Aquarium, what can I say its not really worth the price but I did get some impressive pictures and to say it took longer to get there from my house then it did to go through the exhibit. If you do plan on going make sure you have another activity planned to make it worth the drive there and home. The rest of my picture I will post on my travelswithkelli instragram .

Christmas light at Stonehenge

Image
Got you thinking I went to England didn't' I.... but sorry no, there's a golf course in Tunkhannock, Pa. called Stonehenge Golf Course and this is The Festival of Lights . This is my second year going and let me tell you that the last time was before Christmas and it was over 1 hour of waiting in line to get into the light show. This year I didn't go until after Christmas and the line was so much shorter.  The only negative to waiting until after the holiday is the indoor activities are sparse. Below are some of the desplays, I does say there is no stopping or getting out of the car. We didn't get out of the car but since it was not at all crowded we were able to stop several time without anyone getting upset. If you haven't gone then make this a must stop next year. Halloween festivities

For the last few Halloweens I have ventured up to THE GREAT PUMPKIN BLAZE . First I must say that they are plastic pumpkins mostly, with the walkways having the only real pumpkins. It still impressive with over 7,000 pumpkins carved and displayed on the Manor grounds. This is fine with me but I do know some who are not.  I know that I shouldn't put this out into the internet but I go in November because well I don't like crowds when I want to take pictures and need to keep a watch on a child in my keeping. Here are some pictures from this past year when I went with my mini me, aka RJ. Gave him a camera when we went to Eastern Penitary over the summer and he's hooked. Going to have to give him one of my old cameras to start to learn with. He needs to learn to be patient and the pictures will come to the way he wants them. The pumpkins on the ground are baby spiders (creepy) and the web is huge! Statue of liberty is 25 feet tall (if memory serves me correc
