Tuscaloosa, Go Red Tide!

For about a few minutes I hung out on University of Alabama, Go Red Tide. Then I ventured around the town. First I tried to find the Fallon Robot. It was hard since several streets were closed off but I found it. The Fallon robot is called Goldie 1971. She was created by alumnus Joe McCreary.  The robot is 23 feet long and made from scrap iron cast by a furnace. The reason for the name is supposedly it was graffiti left by a welder that was discovered by McCreary while he was making her.

Then I went to find the Running Minerva. She’s the Roman Goddess but dressed up more like modern woman or the dancer she was modeled after. . Frozen in motion on top of a 30 foot curved chrome beam.

Then I stopped at the information center. Where there was a statue of a boxer, Deontay Wilder. He is the heavy weight champion, 2015-2020. Record 42-2-1.

See you at the next bend in the road,
Kelli
